The StrengthsFinder Assessment Finds Your Strengths
Gallup’s groundbreaking assessment, StrengthsFinder, has been used by 457 of the Fortune 500 companies, and over 13 million people have taken the test.
Learn What You Do Best, Then Do It
“Strengths are the unique combination of talents, knowledge, and skills that every person possesses. Most people don’t know what their strengths are or have the opportunity to use them to their advantage.”
People who focus on their strengths every day are 6 times as likely to be engaged at work. They are more productive too, both individually and in teams. They are more than 3 times as likely to say they have an excellent quality of life.
What Is Engagement?
“An engaged employee works with passion and feels a profound connection to his/her organization. An engaged employee drives innovation and moves the organization forward.”
Who is Engaged?
- In the United States, just over 30% of employees are engaged at work.
- That means almost 70% are not engaged.
- Worldwide, it’s worse, only 13% of employees are engaged in their jobs.
Who Is Actively Disengaged?
“The actively disengaged employee – the “cave dweller,” is Consistently Against Virtually Everything; … an actively disengaged employee is not just unhappy at work; he acts out that unhappiness. Every day, actively disengaged employees tear down what their engaged coworkers are building.”
Curt Coffman, Coauthor of First, Break All the Rules
- “Actively disengaged” employees are not just negative, they refuse to be part of the solution.
- In the United States, over 17% of employees are “actively disengaged.”
Is There a Remedy? Focus on Strengths
- When leaders fail to focus on employees’ strengths: employee engagement is only 9%.
- When leaders focus on employees’ strengths, employee engagement is an amazing 73%.
- When leaders focus on and invest in employees’ strengths, the chances of engagement go up 800%.
Bill Graham, Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach and Trainer
About 4 years ago, Bill started teaching the StrengthsFinder program as an addition to a graduate course on Leadership and Organizational Behavior at NYU. He used it as a tool to explain how leaders can come in different packages.
Bill found Strengths-based leadership immediately valuable for engagement and building self-confidence for his students. He saw it change the way they perceived leadership, and it impacted many aspects of their lives.
He began to test StrengthsFinders with corporate clients. He was surprised to see the positive impression that it made on people from every occupation and position. It took down silos and built relationships. It even helped parents. He became a Strengths believer.
Bill’s work in communications training includes an unusual niche. He helps people become more likable. The StrengthsFinder program has become a vital part of this work. It helps teams bond, leaders appreciate their followers, and managers recognize the individual strengths of the people they supervise.
As a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach, Bill help groups, teams and individuals to better appreciate and understand their personal value and the values of their colleagues.
